How to import a product feed into Connecteed starting from an email attachment

Connecteed, in addition to acquiring files via FTP, SFTP, or from Google Docs, can intercept data starting from an e-mail attachment received periodically from a specific sender.

The acquisition of a feed source via e-mail is possible with the following procedure:

1) Access the import screen



2) Selecting the "Add import" item


3) Selection of the type of file you intend to import from the email attachment (e.g. json)


4) Selection of the type of import source (choose E-mail)


5) Configuring the mailbox that Connecteed accesses


In this last step it is necessary to complete the required fields, except for the email subject which remains optional.

The system will periodically connect to the email client, analyzing the incoming mail, checking, exclusively for messages received from the specified sender, the presence of attachments with the same file name specified in the import screen.

By specifying the optional value of "email subject" it is also possible to further filter the messages from which to import attachments, for example discarding those that contain a JSON attachment of the same name but intended for another sales department, but which comes from the same sender as instead we are only interested in receiving another JSON (or CSV, XML or TXT). If there is a difference in the subject between the two types of messages received, the system will allow you to acquire only the attachment useful for importing into Connecteed.

Important: if the sender changes the name of the file, the system will not import the new file and it will be necessary to change the "Attachment file name" entry.
