Mirakl Marketplace: CSV or API model?

Mirakl is a platform that helps marketplaces communicate with vendors, providing a portal that allows sellers to register, configure their accounts, and send products in two ways:

  • Through the provision of a link to the CSV listing (Comma Separated Value);

  • Through API integration (Application Programming Interface).

These terminologies should not intimidate the user because in both cases they are managed by Connecteed with guided procedures, which are also useful for users with low technological competence.

Let's quickly delve into detail to understand the differences between the two methods offered by Connecteed.

CSV

CSV uploading is the most commonly used method and is offered by all marketplaces that adhere to the Mirakl platform. It is typically configured in the "Settings" => "Store" => "Remote file import settings (top right)" section on the left-hand side.

On the page that opens it is essential to go down to the item "Settings for importing offers via FTP or HTTP" and activate the check as shown below, providing the HTTPS protocol, the files.connecteed.com server address, the port 443, the path to the file, which you will obtain from the export panel of your Connecteed project, by copying and pasting the right part into this field starting from /download.... and up to and including .csv.

The delete and replace option is recommended as it allows you to empty the offers already loaded in the previous marketplace update session via Connecteed and perform a new load of offers from scratch. In this way you can be sure that the products that were in the previous import and which are not present in the new import (for example because they have been discontinued), are eliminated and do not remain for sale in the marketplace.

Mirakl Projects API

Sending price lists via API uses a communication channel with the marketplace which allows the products to be transmitted in a channel external to the seller's panel, via direct communication between the Connecteed servers and those of the marketplace, in a private channel which allows also to obtain the return of the product sending operation.

The return contains very useful data for the seller including the errors of the non-publishable products and the related reasons, shown directly within Connecteed in the sales channel report.

Activating an API channel is simple, and simply click on "Profile (top right)" => "API key", copy the API key and paste it into the "Connections" area of "Connecteed. Below is a visual example of the E-price API key.
